Residual pressure valve placement?

I am finally getting around to finishing my Granada swap. I have a question on the residual valve. Can It be installed anywhere in the rear brake circuit? The instructions from the kit say after the dist.block but could it be before. I have not found an adapter that will go from the size the rear line is to the size the valve is to put it after the block. As long as the direction of flow is correct can they be installed in any possition (IE: horizontal, diagonal, vertical)? Any help would be greatly appriciated, I would like to get this task off of my todo list. I may even be able to take her for a ride yet this summer/year. Got the rear suspension, and front all changed out. Just need to sort the break line out, bleed em and get an allignment and inspection, and fight with a 2nd-3rd flair up in the c4.

In original early Ford applications, the RPV was installed in the port(s) of the MC just under the seat where the hard line fitting would screw in. In most parts stores, current replacement MCs for early disc/drum or drum/drum applications generally don't come with RPVs installed anymore --even on replacement MC that originally did come with them installed.

I'm guessing the RPV you have is an inline one? It doesn't matter how you locate it in the line. It's not orientation specific in order for it to work correctly.

I'm not sure what diameter the fitting hole is on the RPV, but would guess it's either 3/8"-24 or 7/16"-24. The 3/8"-24 inverted hard line fitting is a common size you can get at any automotive parts store for 3/16" diameter brake tubing. Finding 7/16"-24 fittings for 3/16" diameter brake tubing is another story. I haven't encountered a parts store yet that carries them.

Thank you for the info.

I think I will be able to attach the valve directly at the distribution block. I have an adapter that will make that work. And the line that runs back the tunnel will go right into the distribution block no problem. I don't have the tools to make my own lines or want to. I have been trying to use pre-made/flared and it has worked out pretty good. I was actually surprised at how well the prebent lines fit the originals.
