resin in gas tank?

someone was saying that there is some kind of resin in our stock gas tanks?


If I apply heat to a new stock tank, is that going to damage this resin? melt it?


(about 375 degrees)

Its not rounded off....I didnt let it get that far. old gas tank is out...new one is ready to go in. Just wondering about this 'resin' stuff someone mentioned.

welp, off to powdercoating I go then. After im done, should i coat the inside of my tank with anything?
