Sorry to rehash old news, but have reviewed numerous threads and still do not have a clear understanding. I have '08 GT coupe with FRPP CAI, 91+ octane tune, FRPP x-pipe, and have run FRPP GTA and 5GT Stinger mufflers. The Stingers sound great, and the car seems to be peppier with the Stingers vs. the GTAs. (Am I imagining that because the Stingers sound beefier?) Around town drone not a problem, but took a road trip, and the Stinger drone was just awful. Put the GTAs back on, killed the drone, but miss the Stinger tone. Really do not care to remove seats and carpet to try sound deadeners. Has anyone made a significant reduction in FRPP x-pipe and 5GT stinger drone by adding mid-pipe resonators? Would Dynamat (or other?) in just the trunk make much difference?

Some people here seem to like putting Magnaflow Magnapacks before the rear axle to quiet things down a bit. That would definitely help but I'm also thinking somehow that a prochamber might reduce your drone as well.

I don't have the same set-up as you, I had the Flowmaster American Thunder axle backs and a Pypes O/R H-Pipe, and had terrible raspyness and some drone. I then installed some Pypes M80's after the h-pipe (into the over-the-axle pipes) and almost completely eliminated all of the raspyness/drone. I think a set of these (M80's) or even the magna packs should help reduce the drone. Please take into consideration that either of these (resonators) will also quiet the exhaust volume down a bit as well.

Thanks for the input walter and COBESGT. Good info, will file it for future if my CFO releases Mustang funds. I received another suggestion - Ford GTBs, Bullitt mufflers. Anyone tried or heard GTBs behind stock manifolds, cats, and a FRPP x-pipe? I might sell/swap GTAs for a pair of GTBs. Have 5GTs back on, getting pretty quick at swapping muffers. The deep tone and drone are back.

I did this with SLP loudmouths...though I once had the stingers and didnt like the drone either. The magnaflows I used along with the install was under 200.
