Hey guys,
In the search for two cars...one a 69 fastback, and two a modded 90-93 that will be canablized for parts to be put into the fastback.

I found a fox body that I like and if still available I may try and pick up.

My question is it has some brake items that I am curious if they can be swapped over to the 1969. The parts are as followed

99+ PBR 12" Fronts brakes
95 Rears
Fox length axles
95 Cobra Brake Booster
SN95 Spindles
Wilwood Adjustable Proporting Valve

Will any of these items be able to be used? Please let me know.

Thanks

Chris

I'm pretty sure the Wilwood proportioning valve will work, but that's about all....

Well, I was planning on using the complete rear end out of the car because I was under the impression that with the mounts moved, it would work...can someone clearify this before I buy this car?

Also, the SN95 Spindles and 99+ PBR 12" Fronts brakes can not be used at all?

Not trying to be a pain but I just want to try and use as much off this car as possible.

Sorry bud, but in moding, it requires you step out into traffic to find this stuff out. The question about spindles is pretty basic, if you don't know that then it’s going to be a lot of learning for you.

sn95's are front steer cars....completely different suspension. I know your just looking for quick answers sorry if that sounded kind of harsh. Anyway the only way to make the brakes work is with adapters. mustangsteve.com sells the set-up you'll need. The rear might work but the perches and length will be a problem.

If you’re trying to find things that will bolt in, the valve might, but that’s it. It’s all really a matter of money and your fabrication skills, but generally these things are not worth it, just not practical when you can buy kits that will be the same price wise in the end after all the fabrication required.

I understand this...and have always been able to count on stangnet and other boards to learn from before I spend/waist money stepping out into traffic....I guess I assumed wrong about this portion of stangnet by your responce.

Thank you for the info on the Mustangsteve.com site. Seems to be some good info. The rear end, well I have heard several differnet things how...so, if I decide to go this route, I will continue to research it else where to find out for sure.

Well, this will be a long term project as I am work full time, go to school full time and do high school ministry as well....if there is a way to fabricate to save some money over time...I don't mind.

Thanks for the input.

Hay you are the one that stole my name J/K.
The 8.8 rear will fit the 67/68 and I think the 69 have the same width. You will have to cut and weld new spring perches but it can be done. As for the rest I cant help but good luck on the project.

I'm on a business trip at the moment, so I don't have the links available. I think I can be of some help anyway, though.

If you have Granada spindles, you can make brackets to use the PBR calipers on your existing Granada discs. Do a search on here for PBR calipers and you will find drawings. The best way is to get the parts and materials and start fabbing. If you have another style of disc spindle, the brackets should still be simple. If you have the parts and the Granada/PBR drawings for reference, you should be able to come up with a simple bracket.

I have measured my '70 tire location (rear end width) and compared it to my '85 GT tire location. The distance from outside to outside is identical and the inner edges of the tires on the '85 are just slightly closer together due to wider tires. The '85 GT setup looks like a great fit into my '70. I don't have the details with me at the moment, I will post them later.

The newer Mustang rear is a good fit for my '70 at least if you want to use rims with the modern backspacing. If you want to use the old Mustang wheels, the FOX rear is too wide. Fox 5.72" backspace, original 4.5" backspace IIRC (sorry again I don't have the reference materials handy).

I don't have info on the SN95 rears with me. If you do a search on the Corral forums for SN95 rear disc you should find a really good website that addresses this. There's a site that discusses all the conversions out there. IIRC the SN95 axle is longer than those on the FOX platform. The details are there.

Seriously - Thanks to both you and Hack for some good information.

Hack, once you get back from your trip, would love to get any info you may have. I'm going to try and pic up this Fox body, and then a 69 body soon after...but this car is is just a huge parts bin that I would like to use.

THanks again guys!
