Results!!! Ran car with only underdrive pulley's as change!

Well i posted two days ago that i will be running my car with the only change of mac underdrive pulleys, a/c delete kit, and smog pump by pass. My old best time was: 14.2@97mph w/2.11 60ft. Track was prepped nicely like last time and temperature was about the same. since my 14.2 run was about 3 weeks ago. I got about 12 runs in since nobody was there barely.

New Best- 13.77@99.98mph w/1.98 60ft.

Now my 60ft time went from a 2.11 to a 1.98 which makes up for the big leap. This was on kuhmo 711 street tires too. not to bad huh? But, mmy mph peaked that night at 100 mph. Which was 3 full mph better than before. My worst run of the night was a 14.0@99mph with a 2.165 60ft. Very happy with this considering my mods and street tires. no drag radials or slicks. So imo PULLEYS DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!

It's drag racing, so your racing against drag. If you can reduce drag, you will do better. U/D's do make a difference, that's why I ran a 3" crank pulley with the ASP kit. Your weight loss I am sure helped, at least contributed to a mph or two and a thenth or so. The rest was the pullies.

well im getting closer to my goal of 12.9 w/stock h/c/i and no power adder. headers, maf, k&n filter, throttle body, and slicks hopefully will get me there

You didnt pick up that much gain from the pulleys but they do help. 100 pounds of weight difference and the better 60 ft helped the et alot, MPH could have been from the weather. Pulleys DO work though, Im not saying they dont, just dont want everybody thinking they will drop half a second and pick up 3 MPH because they wont. Probably worth a tenth and a MPH or so depending. Maybe 1.5 tenths and 1.5 MPH.

It coulndn't have been that you learned how to drive better and you got a better 60' and losing a lot of weight out of the nose of your car...

[/sarcasm]

Now before you go back let your gas tank get to E, then run the highest octane gas you can get (probably 93 or 94 octane) and fill it up 3/4. Now run the highest amount of timing you possibly can without pinging...With that and your future mods you will probably make it.

Good improvement -- but unless you are a very consitant driver and made runs back to back with only those changes, I wouldn't attribute a small improvement to specific changes.

I'm sure they helped -- but how much is hard to say.
