I just got a Pertronix rev limiter for my '90 5.0 and the instructions confused me a bit. Basically there are two ways to hook it up, what they call HEI and non-HEI. What is the Ford stock electronic ignition considered? The instructions also say HEI is a system with current limiting circuitry. So does the Ford system fall under this description? Thanks.

Not that it has anything to do with my question, but I had two reasons. 1. People I don't particularly trust have to drive my car from time to time. By setting the limiter low I can limit the amount of trouble they will get into/damage they may do. 2. The stock Mustang's rev limiter does not kick in until 6200 rpm. A stock 5.0 produces maximum power at 4250 rpm. While I do go slightly over that at times when racing, there's no sense in letting the motor wind up another 1500 rpm or so until it hits the factory limiter if I botch a shift.
