Rev Limiter Question/Problem

Okay, I have been having this issue that is driving me crazy. At WOT when the car shifts to 2nd, before it shifts it hits the rev limiter and the car of course bucks back, then shifts and continues on. Gears are stock.

Now my car is an auto, and I notice this when I let the car shift on its own, and when I manually shift it. This does not happen on the 2nd to 3rd shift.

hypertech power programmer should let you change your shift points although I might would check with the dealer to see if they can do anything to change it for free since this doesnt seem quite right on such a new car .

Did you buy the car brand new or used? It might have different gears in it and not be calibrated for them. My friend has an auto with 4.10's and doesn't have a chip to correct the speedo yet. His will hit the limiter between 1st and 2nd at WOT.

No bought it used, but I know for sure it does not have a gear. I had a 4.10 in my 99 stang and this one does not come even close to taking off like that one did.

I never really understood why my car wouldn't redline 1st, but would do it to 2-3 and so on.

It really bothered me when the car hit 5700 rpms and just sorta "died".

It resulted in me getting a programmer
