rev limiter

Does a stock 1987 Mustang Gt have a built in rev limiter at all? I'm just wondering

Yes, sir. The EEC cuts fuel to the engine at 6250 rpms.

tonight i revved it to 6500 and nothing happened so idk if my car just doesn't have it ... any suggestions

If you are using the stock tach.... you can probably rev all the way to the red and not bounce off the limiter.

The stock tach is very, VERY inacurate when it is used above 3500 RPMS.

Your only solution to this is to buy a aftermarket tach and use that to tell you where you are really shifting.

BTW there's no power at 6250rpms and its not good on the motor.
