Ok i'm saving money and i want to know if this setup sounds good and if the parts i'm getting are any good. If you guys have any comments or would recommend something better let me know i would greatly appreciate it since i'm open ears right now and taking any advise that i get. Well heres the list:
Also this is going on a 2000 Saleen Mustang.

Patriot Performance Cylinder Heads
STAGE II
CNC Ported
Patriot Valves
Patriot Springs
Bronze Guides
Ti Retainers
5 Angle Valve Job
Assembled: *$1395.00 Pair

Comp Cams

Accufab Plenum and Accufab Throttle Body

JBA Headers

This is what i have so far but my main concern is the ported cylinder heads and the components that they offer. Tell me what you guys think. I'm also considering forged pistons.

Talk to Tim at T&J's performance man, he WILL save you alot of money and you will end up with a MUCH better car in the end. VT cams are my favorite and recommended all over this board, LT headers..shorties are a waste of time and energy, and the plenum deal is very debateable but dont expect more than 5-10hp out of it..for $400.. As for the internals, if you plan on hitting 400+rwhp then for sure start the forging process! www.modularfordpowerhouse.com is Tim's site by the way, hes a genius and will build you a MONSTER! Good luck with everything and post up what you decide

I'm going to talk to him and see what he can do for me. The thing was that i live in cali and very close to chicane motorsports and i was going to have them do the install. But i'm certain i'll give him a call I'm looking into spending around 2,500 to 3,000 dollars and i'm going to stay N/A in the meantime. I also forgot to mention that i want to Run a NX dry kit 100 shot so thats also part of my list. Anymore ideas. Thanks WhiteDevil69

Heard many good things about them too...see what he has to say, he will give good advice, even if it wont make him any money. Price on the heads sounded good with the setup you listed you would have a killer car...theres always a better/cheaper route, but if its gonna make like a ton easier then just get what you can outta tim and have them install it all and cover the rest at that shop. About the pistons, probly a good idea with the NX, 100 shot isn't insane but with the motor pushing the power it will be after the headswap and whatnot it might not be a bad idea, but its the rods that really scare me! Anyone else got any change on this?

yeah i've always cut corners here and there and it's only costed me more in the end. This time i want to go all out and get some more performance out of my car. I'm not too sure if i should stay with my 3:55 gears or go with the 3:73 gears but thats in time to come. I'm hoping to get this done by the end of August or September to which i should have enough saved up. I just never heard of Patriot Performance heads before and i was hoping someone knew about them and chime in if they were good or not. Hopefully somebody knows and lets me know. I'll be giving Tim a call tommorrow with a full list of what i want. Thanks again WhiteDevil69 you've helped me a bunch.

you have to get shorty headers to stay CARB legal.
JBA's are the best IMO. your setup looks great btw.

go buy a forged short block from Ti mand get it shipped to Joe @ Chicane. He will do the install for him. You'll get best of both coasts ..lol
Get VT cams too but then u might get in trouble when SMOG time comes. Same for headers. You have to make sure they are CARB legal, JBA should be good.

well i'm going to bootleg my SMOG at this place that i know so that's not my concern. I was thinking about getting a forged short block but then changed my mind. I'm going to chicane motorsports on Saturday and have them give me a quote on all parts and install so i know how much to save. I'm just looking for ideas and things that i may need down the road. I just want to see what people think of the setup i have so far and what they recommend so keep it coming.

I think the setup looks great but the heads are the only thing I am not exactly up on. they are a good price but I would ask around on how the srings and valves are for quality. they are by far the best "deal" but I don't know about quality. I am not saying they are bad I have just not heard rave reviews either. I have just not heard enough about them. where as vt, fox lake, t&j have more of a reputation for modular.

Comp and vt both make good cams. the comp 270's and vt wild both produce good #'s. The plenum will give you power I would look around ebay a bit I got my accufab plenum and bbk tb for $300. It makes a difference. I don't know why people knock it as a mod it is just as cost effective as ny mod for these years.

the jba headers some love them some hate them. in cali I think you don't have a choice but to run jba or ford shorties. jba have more power but cost twice as much so $$$ per hp they are a toss up.

if you are getting a free pass on smog, put LT's on your car. as long as you don't get stopped by the cops you will be fine. and the power gains are better than any shorty.

sure i'll pm you when i get the quote from chicane. Most likely being around saturday or sunday not too sure because i have a lot of things to do around the house and i'm not to sure i'll be able to have time and stop by chicanes. I'll pm you even though i don't go.

see the heads are what worries me too. I really haven't heard about them so i'm kind of worried about that. I think i'm going to lean towards VT cams but i just read a thread that they are on backorder. I'm worried to get full length headers because my car is dropped as it is and i'm scared that i might damage something. I'm going to be ordering the NX dry kit next week hopefully and then the modding begins.

i would consider that but i do get pulled over a lot for stupid s***. Most of the time they just harrass me because i'm young and driving a Saleen. They think i stole it. The smog i'm not worried about at all, i have a guy who can do it for 180 so it doesn't matter. but like i posted before my car is dropped about 2" and i'm scared that i'm going to damage something.
