I'm having a problem guys...i'm actually in the process of selling my vehicle (no time or room unfortunately) but before i do , i want to be able to fix everything wrong with it so the buyer'll be able to have a good security of this vehicle

.....one issue is when i'm driving up the street...and stop at a light, it'll idle/rev very high...and then when i put it into gear it'll pull as if i'm applying pressure onto the gas (but i'm not) i found out that the only way to solve this would be to turn the car off and then turn it back on....it sort of "resets" the issue....how can i fix this?

I've seen a couple of threads on this lately (high idle fixed with an ignition cycling) and have been working on this myself... stupid Ford EEC idle setup! :bang:

10-pins, TPS, IAC valve and EGR valve are frequently mentioned as potential causes. I cleaned the 10-pins and it actually went away for a few days.. then restarted again... ...checking on the other usual suspects as I have time. Good luck!

Get a new Throttle Position Sensor it will solve everything!

lol yea i already got that but still nothing and i did clean my IAC...should i just get another one? ....thanks for responding guys, i had no idea this was such a problem....i thought it was something you can quickly change or fix....

also make sure you dont have vac leaks - a large one can raise the idle up. depending upon how the air is being introduced (what went south) it can have weird and intermittant symptoms.

good luck.

Did you disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer after you changed the TPS?
