So I have an 04 merlot GT with 2" lowering springs on it, 18x10" rims on rear and 18x9 in front and looking to build my mustang for circuit/street application. So I'm running into a problem in looking for the right tires for this app. I've been looking at the nitto invos, 295/35zr18 in rear and 255/35r18 in front. In need of opinions should I choose this tire set or another, and would the 275/35zr18 suffice on the rear?

I agree on the 295 rears....but I do NOT agree on the INVOs. Dont get me wrong, the Invo's are a good tire, but it is not an all out performance tire. If you want to take it to a circuit, you will kick yourself in the ass all the way home saying "WTF did I do?". If you want a set of Nittos, and you dont want to go with a comp spec tire for street/circuit use....then go with something like the NT05.

NT05, 265/35-18s and 295/35-18. I have seen more than a few 275s rub on the swaybar. If you have a good local shop, they might let you test fit a set of 275 NT05s (I had a shop do this for me in Denver). They put one on one of my rims, put that wheel on and dropped it on the ground. We turned it from left to right and I had about 1/8" of clearance so I went with the 265s.

well it seems that i am going to buy another set of rims and they will be either 9" or 9.5" all around. so i think im gonna go with the 275's all around so i can rotate when needed. its still just a lightly modded car so im not looking at all out performance wise or if i do i will get the 10" rims for the back offset and do go with the 295's in the back. its nowhere near ready to be set on a circuit track so more or less just messing around on the street when im riding with my car club. but if i do go offset i will get the 265's for the front from what you have told me for any clearance issues. but i will definitely look into a set of NTO5's and see what kind of reviews they have for multiple applications

NT05s FTW. I just got mine installed last weekend. 315/35 - 17 out back, 275/40-17 up front. MUCH improved traction over the Sumis I previously had. But let me tell you, when you do light them up, they REALLY smell. It's not a bad thing...just an observation. I LOVE my new tires.

NT-05s are decent, but don't expect them to last.

275/40-17 Nitto NT555s hook up my 11 second car 95% of the time on the street. And my last set lasted 35,000 miles with worn out ball joints, wheel bearings, and tie rod ends, and no alignment. I'd say they are a decent tire.
