Seriously man, if you just throw money at parts without geting it verified and it doesn't fix the problem you are just going to be more frustraited. Have it checked by a compitent mechanic.

If you want to put an aluminum drive shaft in anyways then go ahead and do it. If it fixes your problem then great. If not, no money lost because you were doing to do it anyways. Just don't throw money at a problem without being somewhat sure its going to help.

I totally agree. I did this with my rearend and the shop I originally took it to just had me buy parts to see if it fixed the problem. In the long run I was more frustrated cuz I was just buying parts to hopefully fix the situation. My suggestion take it to a rear-end shop or a shop you TRUST!

the problem is the two places i trust, every time i was there they never heard the noise becuase it never happend while it was there. they never drove it long enough to make it happen.. if i have someone check the u joints and drive shaft that might help. about 3 months ago the mechs did tell me at work that my drive shaft had more play in it than they thaught it should... but there honda mechs to so i dont know...

You should stick your location in your profile so it shows up in your posts. You would be surprised how willing people on these forums are to help each other out.

Aluminum drive shafts reduce the rotating mass. This means there is less HP loss due to moving the drive shaft which means more rear wheel HP and torque.
