Road racing versus drag racing

well it all depends on how into the sport you want to go.. drag racing.. high horsepower.. and rpm.. and the motors don't run.. for that long..

as for road racing.. as much horsepower and torque.. you can get.. but the motor has to be able to run at those high rpm for long extended periods of time..

lets take a nextel cup engine as a basis.. big bore 4.125" by a short stroke 3.35" coming to 358ci.. now each team has different bores and strokes.. but they are all around that basic idea.. as for the motor going into the 92 it will be a 7500rpm 408.. dry sump.. huge heads.. etc.. much different then the short stroke nascar engine.. but the out of corner torque or pull will be much greater of a short stroke rpm motor..
