I'm slapping on a pair of unmilled gt40p's and i'm hoping the stock pushrods will work. I was going to order some shims just in case but i could only find them in .030 or .060 thickness. These seem like they may be a little too big so would I have to order new pushrods if my geometry is off by just a little bit?

I have stock stamped bolt down rockers on my 82. It has iron GT40 heads, not the p's, and a 1986 vintage Rhodes Lifters cam. I have the same setup on the 79 with Comp Cams roller tip rockers and their retrofit studs.

I bought the Crane shim kit that has 3 sizes of shims that you can use individually or in combinations. When I put the GT40 heads on, I experimented with the shims, and finally removed them.

It's run fine with the stock 79 length pushrods for 5 years, and will spin to 6000 rpm as needed. This is with a flat tappet hydraulic setup.

I may be lucky, but I would mock up the stock stuff first and check it. It should work.
