I am putting a cage in my car and want to know who has one and what type and brand. Im not sure if i should get an through dash type or the type that goes around.

Im looking at the S&W racing type. But they offer both through dash and around dash.

Anybody have and pics?

I talked to the guy on the phone and he was pretty addamitt about selling me the cage that went around and not through the dash. He said the dash one was for racers usually who didn't care about the dash.

Im curious how its going to look going around the dash.

Ended up costing me 249+ 90 dollars freight. jegs was like 219 + probably a cheaper freight but a guy on the hardcore forum recommended these guys after wolferacecraft of coarse.

But wolfe started there pricing at 385 + frieght for there most standard mild steal cage with no options. The one from M&R comes with jig notches already which is a 325 dollar option from wolfe.

I will let you know how it goes. I may do a step by step through the install with pictures if anybody is interested.

If it was me I would get a through the dash type. It looks so much cleaner when installed correctly and you don't hit you knees on the front down bars everytime you get in. It takes a little more effort to install correctly but worth it in the end IMO.

yeah i sorta thought that too but the way he put it was that the through dash was more for people who really don't have much of a dash anyway. I told him it was a show car and he said you don't want to cut up the dash. But i get what your saying, i imagine it would be a really big prodject to make it look good through the dash though and you would probably loose your little vents that keep the side windows defogged.
