What is the diffrence between a 8 point and a 10 point cage. I want the cage that has the bars come down past the doors and if you want pull the pin and they can slide out.

yah, im looking for a roll cage for my car also, cause i have t-tops, i doubt ill be able to run at the track with more than 400hp :flag:, i want one that isnt too intrusive, jsut one that will support the car. how much do they usually cost, and how painful to put in? lets see some pics too :D

A 6 or 8pt is usually a roll bar, main hoop, 2 hatch bars, 2 door bars (6pt) if you add 2 outriggers to the subframes, torque boxes or tranny tunnel it is an (8pt).

A 10pt is a cage with the bars that go down through or in front of the dash.

You mention swing out door bars, many different companies make kits with bars, Maximum Motorsports makes a NHRA certified bolt in roll bar with swing outs, not cheap but they make one. S&W make a decent kit but it requires a little more fabbing then others including welding, however a 8pt runs $109-$140 and I think swings out kits are another $35/door. Wolfe Racecraft makes a weld in kit that supposedly is hold and weld, pre-notched and ready to go!
