Roller rockers????

Not worth it. The TFS will be setup for stud mount rockers. And converting the stock heads to studs is a waste of money. And costly.

Just save for the TFS kit. Doesn't it come with rockers? I can't remember.

I agree forget the rocker arms right now. All you would need is the gear set and I would recommend one of the FRPP install packs depending on your miles. Then pick up Ford gear oil and FRPP friction modifier or some Royal Purple gear oil, no modifier needed.

I kinda of had the same question along the lines as this, i', looking for a set a of roller rockers to put on my stock 88, just to give me a lil extra i also have another set of stock heads that im going to get ported and a valve job done on them, any ideas? sorry not meaning to thread jack!

i have a clutch, 3.73 gear bbk shorty equal lenghts bassani xpipe and flowmaster cat back that is going into the car, i also have a explorer throttle body in it...so its not going to be totally stock by the time the roller rockers come into play

By most guys standards here...that still pretty much stock.

I still wouldn't do RR's at that point. I'd do heads, or a cam first. Are you still speed density? If so, you'll have to convert to MA anyway, so perhaps you want to do that

im working on getting it converted over to MAF, my friend is supposed to be pulling a computer out of his wrecked 90, and yea i consider it stock also, its just that a set of 1.7 roller rockers are much cheaper then a set of heads, maybe i will look into getting a cam instead, whats a good cam that i can use with ported and polished E7 heads?

For ported E7s, stock cam is probably just at home... Something transferrable that will support your future builds is a decent cooling system or subframe connectors. I know... not entirely fufilling for the go fast bug... Might want to look into an electric fan/radiator setup. It would just suck to get pedistal roller rockers when most aftermarket heads(TFS included) use shaft mounted rockers.

yes subframes are in the near future, i already have a strut tower brace, so pretty much what you guys are saying is if i keep the stock heads, ported and/or valve job or not i should just keep the stock cam? because if thats the case, i will probably just go with a heads, cam, intake combo instead because i don't really feel like being the slow Stang in the group lol

Yes. Just stick with the stock cam till you redo your top end. If you swap out the cam, you will loose your low end power since everything else can't keep up with it. The biggest bottleneck on the stock motor is the intake. You can swap that out and gain some power... and it doesn't involve tearing into the motor.
