I am going to install my Ron Davis radiator this weekend and just wanted to know if anyone else has one? I have a manual trans. How easy is the swap with the stock one? Are there any heads up you can give me? Anything to watch out for? Will the stock fan shroud fit? And so on. Thanks in advance!

All I can tell you is that the Ron Davis stuff is absolutely top quality. I have close friends that own 2 SoCal radiator shops and they swear by them. I've been using them for 15 years. I've never had a problem with any of them. I, however, have never used one in a late model mustang.

I have had a Ron Davis for a few years on both of our cars and they are great, made very well. I would add an electric fan set-up if possible, the stock shroud may be able to fit but you will have to drill the radiator flanges out for the bolts. I also use a alum hold down since the stock brackets will not work since the radiator is thicker.

If you use an electric fan DO NOT USE the straps that go through the rows, it will damage the radiator and you find many radiator companies that also do not suggest them. I made a really nice bracket that fit the Ron Davis Rad and allows the fan to be adjusted as far as placement and it bolts/clamps on secure, all polished alum.

Here's a pic of the hold down I made, I do not have an pics of the brackets for the fan but can get you one and make one for you if interested.

I got mine from Beau as well. So, I am gonna have to drill my own holes for the shroud right? What if I dont use the shroud? Will this cause any problems? It would only be until I get an electric fan.
Dark, did you use your stock mount brackets? I know alot of people usually cut out the rubber from the bracket to get it to work like when using a 3 core radiator from say like autozone or pepboys.

Well, I installed my radiator today. I just need to drill holes for my fan shroud and install that along with the fan. I am only having 1 probelm right now. The Mac chrome radiator hoses I bought are not a good fit at all. So, I think I am going to cut them and then use the ends of the regular hoses instead of the blue ones that come with the set. What do you guys think?

I ended up using new rubber hoses. So the install is complete now. I drove the car yesterday and it runs much cooler now. The needle sits on the L (normal). Even when I got on it to try and heat things up a bit it only got up to A (normal). So I am pleased. The real test will be when it gets 100 deg and I have the A/C on. All I need is an Electric Fan now.
