First time post! Thanks in advance for the help.

I have a 94' GT Convertible. Just bought the car last year and its completely stock. Been doing some minor upgrades as I've needed to replace older parts. Inspection is due and it turns out I need new brakes and rotors. Can you guys suggest some rotors and pads?

I'm not looking to brake the bank here just looking for soemthing a little upgraded over stock. Looking for under 100 per rotor, shipped.

Any suggestions?

do ceramic pads really offer any increase in performance or do they just not cause all the crappy dust that makes your wheels look terrible?

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

Ceramic pads generally generate the same amount of dust as semi-metallics. However, they do stop more smoothly, and they don't tear up your rotors as much. Hawk racing pads will make the car stop much better, but they generate a ton of dust.

sorry if i sound noobish, but I havent owned a mustang in about 7 years since i wrecked my 86gt. I havent followed the improvement in parts over the years. First poster mentioned ebay. Quick search found these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1994...rQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_2728wt_939

any good?

but these parts are interchangeable right? no need for different calipers or anything?

no,the cobra rear rotors are larger than the gt/v6 rotors.
you will need gt/v6 rotors.

Here is my opinion on pads and rotors, for what it is worth...

Buy the BEST pads you can.

Buy the cheapest rotors you can with a lifetime warranty.

Welcome to the boards!

Personally, ceramics are what I use because they do perform better (than semi's or organics) IMHO and they dust less than semi's [for how I drive].

i use ceramics too, just because.. but be careful with the drilled rotors, some people have bad luck and they crack on them.. slotted or dimpled would be great but its usually a bit more.. if youre skeptical about all the drilled/slotted/dimpled rotors, just go with some brembo blanks..
