My car accelerates smooth from idle to about 5k when not at full operating temp, but as soon as the engine warms up it will start to get rough at anything past 2k. Any idea's on what could cause such a problem? I threw a brand new distributor, plug's, plug wires, coil, cap/rotor, and fuel filter with no change at all. The car also eats ALOT of gas.

I've replaced both o2 sensors when I got the car with bosch units. I was getting code 151, 181 when it was wet outside. Also I cannot find the ground for the o2's

I believe the O2 Sensors are grounded out through the exhaust....Give us more info on your symptoms. Does it run worse after exactly 30 seconds from Startup when already warm or is it after a long drive?

As soon as the car gets warm the acceleration gets unsmooth. I averaged 18mpg on a trip to oklahoma last week on the highway at 1900rpm in 5th gear. It was a pain to drive, it felt like it had lost its power. The car is bone stock with the exception of a off road hpipe and underdrive pulleys.

Ok, that makes me think that its not directly heat related and is probably more related to the ECU switching from Open Loop mode to Closed Loop. First thing I would do is clean the MAF. I'd bet its most likely sensor related if it runs good during startup.

A ex ford tech that works with me said that it could be the tfi module taking a crap. I've always heard of them killing the car when they start to go tho.

When you say it runs rough, is it a misfire? Is it a hesitation?

Im not sure if its really a missfire, It will still accelerate but instead of being smooth and quick it feels like its breaking up since it starts to vibrate the car.

It could be the TFI coil, but usually those fail due to heat. It could be the EGR valve, ECT sensor, AIT sensor, etc. Run a KOER test and see what pops up.

I just remembered that my lower distributer cap adaptor had a small crack in it and alot of gray dust. Could it be carbon tracking?
