So I started my car today and it has a rough idle, no CEL. And smelled like gas for a minute. I had to use NON pi gaskets. Would that matter?

Well I drove it down town, and the rough idle seemed to quiet down a bit. Is the PI Intake suppose to make your exhaust louder? Seems like there is also a faint whistle upon acceleration. Am I just being paranoid.

Well I found a spark plug. if your standing in front of the car. its the second one back on the driver side. It was full of antifreeze. But its the only one. And I can smell a faint smell of antifreeze. But the NONPI gaskets covered up the coolant passages well. It was just the air ports that required RTV. Anyway I decided to romp on it before I found the plug and Heard a bolt or screw hit the road and a Check Engine light came on. P1401- DPFE Sensor Circuit High. When I looked under the hood I found that the DPFE unit had a pig tail unplugged. So I connected it back together, and the CEL is still on.

you should go with adapter before. I did my 2 time with PI gasket and still leak, then I go with adapter and it never leak for over year now.

make sure every thing is torque down right.

The electrode was covered with it. Anywho I bought 4 plugs(all I could afford) and changed them out and the car idled great, and ran great, but underneath a load it(WOT in 5th) still puts like there is a bad plug, so im just gonna take em out and try to clean them the best I can. But yeah I can tell the difference with the PI intake.

Though it's a little extra work, I recommend pulling the plugs and cranking the motor a few times when you've got it torn down- this way, if any coolant did make it into the plug wells, it'll get blown out.

I knew a guy who did the intake on his '97 TC (stock nPI replacement) and ended up bending a rod because there was still coolant in the chambers.
