my 4 cylinder is rough running after sitting up for 8 months, and when I give it gas it will run but when I also mash the brake it dies! could this possibly be the PCV to brake booster is bad? or something else?
thanks

Disclaimer:
I am new to the 2.3

However, the PCV should not run to the booster. That could be the problem?

After the car sits for a while it may be worth while to use a water remover on the first tank of fuel. Also worth changing is the fuel filter.

Can you describe the problem in more detail? It may help others provide answers.

Is the computer providing codes?

what I meant was the check valve on the brake booster, I was thinking it may have failed?? not sure how it would act though!

its sort of acting like its running out of fuel. There is a spot with the throttle that it will run well, but once moved under or above that throttle position (under goes dead) (over it it starts trying to cut out)!

oh yea almost forgot.......the reason I was thinking blown "check valve" on brake booster is because when the brakes are mashed they engine dies!
thanks for all replys!

When you hit the brake, you use vacuum. So the engine will act like it has a small vacuum leak for a little bit. If I pump the brake like 5-10 times while stopped and the engine is running, the RPMs will flare up and then go back down to idle again. It sounds like your engine is running lean, and when you hit the brake, it dies.
