Does anyone know if Saleen and Rousch use stock Ford longblocks when supercharged? ...or do they modify or rebuild the engines to hold more power? If these companies use the stock longblocks, I will feel more comfortable supercharging too.
I have an '02 GT, and I need a blower. I am trying to figure out if the stock motor can take 6 - 9 lbs. of boost safely. (With a custom tune, etc.) I am not worried about the "tuning" part destroying my motor. (I would get it custom tuned for safe A/F and timing etc.) I am worried about the motor making more power than the pistons, rods, and bearings can take, thus trying to blow through the block!
Any ideas?? Thanks guys
I don't know who to believe when it comes to our cars and running boost. Some people say," I just installed a blower on my stock car a week ago, and I am running 15lbs. of boost with no problems!" While others say," The internals are total junk, and supercharging (even with a custom tune) will destroy your motor even with 6 or 8 lbs.!"
