ROUSH SHIFTER NOISE ?????HELP

I have a Roush short Throw shifter and getting lots of noise on the knob. I have to put my hand a squize the knob to stop the rattle noise. Anyone have an idea????.I put my stock plastic 05 shifter i had for my 05 and it doesnt make noise.Its driving me crazy. Does anyone know where i can get a shifter arm lower not as tall as the one i have? I fell like i am driving a Viper with that tall shifter.Would like to find a lower arm like the shelby one. Thanks maybe it will help the noise.

You have the (a) jam nut installed under the Roush knob, right? You might try some teflon tape (like for plumbing) on the threads of the shifter handle to make it more tight.

As far as I know, the only shorter shifter arm that fits the Roush short throw is the short black one that comes with the shifter itself. It is about the same height as the stock one. If you don't have it, you can probably call Roush or ask around to find someone who isn't using it. I don't think I still have mine, but I can look around. I would think that the teflon tape suggested by stangmole would help with the rattle.

The only Roush short throw shifter I've seen (and shifted while parked) was a silver billet stick. Rather tall, actually...a bit taller than the HURST?

They sell the shifter, the stick and the ball separately, and the MSRP is over $400.

AWESOME feel....but haven't driven one.

I would get this setup...personally.

You might also try squeezing the e-brake handle plastic cover when you hear the rattle. Mine rattled like crazy and I thought it was the knob and/or shifter mechanism for a long time until I isolated it to the e-brake handle.

It seems like if the knob is tight and you have a jam nut it'd be very difficult for it to rattle but I've been wrong plenty of times before

Sparty, you don't have to get the shifter arm or ball to install the Roush shifter itself, it can reuse the factory knob. The shifter comes with a short steel arm that is the same length as the factory shifter, so the boot covers it completely.

I've been in love with the HURST shifter since I first saw it on the Shelby's. When I was at the Woodward Dream Cruise this summer I got a chance to sit in a Roush 427R and row through the gears.

I thought the shifter felt GREAT and really liked their stick/ball combo, as it reminded me of the HURST. I REALLY like the taller stick and ball on these shifters!

I was kinda freaked out that they sold everything separately and how much the total cost was.

On November 21-22 Roush is having a "Garage Sale" :

I plan on going to this and seeing if I can score a deal on either:
A. Shifter
B. Mufflers
C. Stage 3 suspension
D. Trak Pak wheels
