:hail2: for all those wondering what fluids to use.:hail2:

i just changed the rear end, tranny and motor with Royal Purple, and i must say, out of every bolt on i have, this simple mod(if you will) made the BIGGEST seat of the pants difference.

:bs: :D

I use Redline in the tranny & in the rear. ANy benefit to switching to Royal Purple?
redline and royal purple are both top of the line oils

it'd be like switching from mobil1 to amsoil. both are pretty much the best you can buy

just personal preference:shrug:

A mustang guy I talked to that has built some motors said to stay away from synthetics and to use the blend Ford has. I forget what part he said was breaking, but rebuilt a few motors that had the same problem and he linked it to synthetic oil (not sure how). Anyone else hear this? I'm currently running Mobil 1 synthetic.

Don't feel bad Helty I had to wait two weeks just for four gaskets
from FedEx because of a shipping error from FedEx so, I only ship UPS
from now on and all my stuff has always came on time from UPS. :nice:
fyi, I work for FedEx and UPS sucks :p

Heres the story if you care to read it:

What happened wasnt FedEx's fault, it was a matter of the courrier being considerate at first, then lazy. I live in an apartment complex, so he didnt want to leave it by the door when nobody was home; which was nice bc I didnt have to worry about it being stolen. So, he scanned it as being delivered and I was like WTF???? So I called FedEx and got his number, called and left a message asking, "WTF?" He called me when he got off work and said he would take it home with him and bring it buy the next evening. Well, two weeks and multiple unreturned calls later, I got pissed and left one last message yesterday.

"Yeah, you've had my package for 2 weeks now. I work for FedEx Express (this guy is a Ground, ie, contracted courrier), I can easily get your managers number and this can get ugly real quick. I expect my package to be at my apartment before I get home from work tomorrow. Thank You."

So this morning his manager calls me at 8am and apologized, and asked when it would be convenient for ME to have him swing by. I told him I understand what its like being a delivery driver so I dont want to screw up his route, just have it here by the end of the day. He dropped it off at 9:30pm, about 15 minutes before I got home.

FedEx Ground is a contracted service, so unfortunately there are some courriers like this guy that make us look bad. His intentions were good, but he dropped the ball. FedEx Express is the ****, but it'll run you a bit more than UPS or Ground.

/rant story. I had to get that off my chest.

Wow that is one crazy story Helty. :D
I think that I probably have bad/lazy courrier's on my route from FedEx.
I did notest that FedEx is more expensive and that ups is cheaper.
The UPS delivery drivers that do my route are not lazy and always
deliver my stuff on time suck or not lol.

yeah I got a little longwinded, just had to vent. Ive been wanting to change my tranny fluid for 2 weeks

honestly though, while the companies may be rivals, the courriers get along pretty well. I always have to let the UPS guy in this one building at night bc they gave me a key and not him. Sometimes on the hotter days I make him buy me a drink from the vending machine before I let him in :D

That's a crazy story mang.. Glad you finally got your chit, maybe we can do that this weekend :D

I've used Mobil 1 Synthetic in all 3 Mustangs I've owned going back to 14 years ago. Never had one problem.

I would have to agree with you, I also work for FedEx express and the fedex ground drivers can run their route anyway they like. The UPS guy that brings me my stuff is great, always leaves my stuff for me. I run Mobile 1 in the engine and Amsoil in the tranny, with the Amsoil and my Fiore clutch adjuster the tranny shifts just fine now, never any problems.....:)

well, this is way off the original topic lol, but do you know if our 75% employee shipping discount applies to Express AND Ground, or just express?

back on topic.....when you guys change your tranny fluid, do you just pump until it reaches the fill hole? Ive heard at least 5 different numbers as fas as the quantity of fluid our tranny needs.
