Hey guys whats up? I got a 95 gt wit 60,000 miles, and i was wondering if it would be ok to run ROYAL PURPLE in the engine, and trans?

Thanks.

P.S. I have stock 95 gt rims with the tires for sale in good shape. Tires have 1,500 miles on them.

I run RP in my GT. But sometimes the cleaners in full synthetic will expose a lewak that was blocked off by other crap. I found out my front seal was leaking after about a month of using RP. But i still use it .I just need to fix that leak.

I use it too, luckily, I havent had any leaks and I am less than 500 miles from 100K. I am sticking with RP until I find something better.

For the price of Royal Purple oil changes, you could buy Castrol GTX for high mile engines and after 12000 miles buy yourself under drive pullies.

It's over-rated.

I'll be running Amsoil in my new engine once I get it broke in. But then again, I can trade out advertising to get the stuff.

I run Motorcraft sythtic blend 10w30 with MC FL1A filter. After doing a oil analysis it showed it was holding up great @ 5,000 mile oil changes, hell they want me to go 6,000 miles for my next oil change which I'm almost there. I'm sitting at 134,xxx runs strong. For a stockish 5.0 I would stick with Motorcraft syn/blend 10w30 or 5w20 great oils and fairly cheap.

I started using Mobil 1 Synthetic at 175k, wally world sells the 5qt jugs for 23$. Its really nice to only have to change your oil every 5-6k. And yes is will show any leaks you have, my real main seal leaks pretty bad so i have to add a qt at about 4k miles. Im still running strong at 193k.

Since we're having another which oil is the best thread... and I see that a lot of new oils are rated for 100000000 miles now, what are the filters rated for? Nobody ever talks about what the filters go till. And its pretty hard to change a filter without changing the oil...

I just use the Ford Motorcraft filter. Regular old QuakerState oil made it to 194,000 miles on the stock engine. The nitrous is most likely what abused the rings to lose compression.
