Hi there I was just wondering what some input would be on my idea of pairing up a set of mild ported RPM heads with a Fcam. Custom cams are not an option in terms of price here in Canada, and the Fcam is available. This would be with stock shortblock and items in my sig,24# injectors and correct MAF, looking for thoughts on idle quality, HP and Streetability..give me some info guy's.

Built this combo for a friend on a AOD car with a 3k converter and 4.10's, performer intake and full exhaust (BBK shorties and X pipe, three chamber flows). Had huge P/V issues even with a stock cam on the TRW flat top forged pistons we used so expect to have the valve reliefs opened up a good bit. The depth was fine, just the 2.02's hit outside the valve reliefs. Performance wise it ran very consistant 14.0's on street tires. Made a fun boy racer car (Maroon '87 GT T top car with a white 4" cowl hood, big and little convo pros) for a 48 year old.

The F cam doesn't start working until 3k so it felt like the motor spent more time revving than going with the 4.10's. Put a paxton SN-92 on and it didn't pull nearly as good as mine does. Car just felt soft. Going C4 and 3.55's in a month or two (once I get caught up with other projects).

Well using 1.9 heads and 1.6RR so I am not seeing that as not an issue, as for your time of 14's this car has run high 13's with the last owner on several occasions with 2.+60' times. I am choosing the F cam cause it has a nice P..... off idle and makes strong power at 3000-6000 which matched the eddy heads nicely. I am not one to launch my car from a light..nor do I race at all so I look only at rowing the gears on country back roads or " quick passed in traffic" ;)

His car ran 15.7's bone stock so this combo is working, just seems soft compared to mine. I'd still check the P/V before locking it down. The 2.02's were over 1/8" out of the reliefs. Surprised my machinist when I took the pistons in to be cut.
