Running down a 99 Z28

I just whant a couple of opinions about a race.
Here whats up I raced my bosses 99 Z-28 6-spd the other night .
He's running stock Z with the basic things K&N, flowmaster exhaust and a
75 dry shot he side that he did not use it but im not for sure .
Im running with a 86 T-top 5-spd I've coverted to mass air Cobra upper & lower with a set of hollie alum heads, X-303 cam, 24lb injecters ,75mm mass air 65mm throttle body ,hedders h-pipe,
no gears next on the agenda still have stock 2.73 he had 3.43. i have lakewood lift bars and sub frames,alum drive shaft
I was pulling on him but not like i thought i would. I spun off the line bad he jumped
me about two cars at the end i was in the middle of his door.
So what do you guys think

Two things:

1: He didnt use his 75 shot.

2: He really cant drive.

I think he doesnt know how to drive. he should have whipped you harder than that even with the mods you have.
The camaro probably is putting down 310-320 to the wheels with those mods, I Would think you are closer to the 265-280 mark. even with the weight advantage you have that is still a 30hp gap at the minimum.
Ls1's are dogs out of the hole, that is where you want to take him. make sure you get a flawless start and dont let him creep up on you. a shot of the juice should make it a little more difficult for him.

What if i had better gears im thinking of some 3.90 with full spool and 31 spline axles

Your going to need better tires to. If you have wheel spin now, add gears and a spool and you'll never hook again.

I agree with everything but the "LS1's are dogs out of the hole". They cut 1.6 60's all day long on stock suspension.

meh, I had a horrible time launching my LS1 and it seemed that once it got rolling it would take off like a rocket, but until I actually hooked and shifted out of first it was a turd. maybe I should look into a driver mod

2:73 = worst thing in a car ever.

Get those gears out and line back up.

My car would throw @ 320rwhp on a dynojet, and with the 2:73's my brothers stock LS1 z will get it good.

This car is so choked up it isnt funny with these.

They do run though. If he sprays you're done for

they run man....that's all I gotta say

Mine will DE-****IN STROY tires under 40mph , but you go for 2nd and the ****ing car tries to fall on its face pulling the r's back to like 2800 or so, wich with the stock setup is fine, but I got dick till like 3300, so its trying to catch itself.

I've never done a full pull with him yet to see if it MIGHT run him back down, but with the 2:73's it makes it rather horrid. With the gears, my car should eat the z28's face off. But right now, as it sits. I think I'd have a lose on my hands.

No it was not at the track but it was on a abandon road.
I dont street race on the public highway way to much traffic not trying to hurt any one.
Just trying to have fun

Have to travel hour away.
The track is closed now would love to go to the track would like to see what i would lay down.
Hope with all my mods I will be in the mid 7's
