Are these rust spots something to be worried about or can i brush/scrape the rust off and make it look like new again? This fox has only 40000 miles and i want it to continue looking like it does. Is the rust a problem?
Look further, I bet you find much worse than that. Ohio is bad about the salt on the roads.
Look up around the gas tank area. Look at the rear quarter panel, back behind the ground effects. You'll probably find they are rusted completely through.
Check the floor pans, especially the front and rear corners. You'll probably find they have holes in the pans and need replaced.
That appears to be a lot of rust around the rear pinch weld underneath the weatherstrip. I would pull it up and see how far it goes. I agree about the floor pans. The small amount of rust around the bolt doesn't scare me so much, but if you see a lot around the rear, they are probably wasted. Make sure you look especially around the rear subframes and the strut towers.
