Rust under side window weatherstrip

Hi, noticed when rolling window all the way down and then back up that the outside weather strip catches on the window when going back up. It seems that the entire "lip" that the weather strip sits on is rusted (and maybe completely rusted off) This is the case on both sides and really the only area where there is really any rust on the car. Wondering if anyone has the same situation, and what the possible solutions are. I have not completely disassembled the door and removed the weatherstrip, but I'm sure it's not good. Attached picture is not mine, but shows the area I am referring to. Thanks
