Very impressive progress for anyone to make... the car already looks 100 times better. Pretty cool to see someone your age dive right in and rescue a car that someone else has neglected. It'll be back to it's former glory in no time!

well you could be buying paint but instead your doing a poor mans 5 lug conversion..
nah im waiting to do paint till early next year...that way the paint will stay nice for at least 9 months...people in ohio fream out when it rains..let alone snow....

38 * 2 for the front...thats $ 76
around 50 for rear....thats $ 126
plus the wheels 100 thats $ 226
for a 5 lug swap with wheels and tires...then sell my 10 holes with new tires for around 75 and i have spent a grand total of $151 for a 5 lug swap with wheels and tires....oh and add in whatever it cost for rear brake pads...
to paint by my call will be around 500..so spending around 150 for a 5 lug swap with wheels and tires it money better spent this late in the year...
Well painting and prepping with all the cheaper good stuff should be closer to 1k at least 400 for the sealer primer and the 2k primer.. and a gallon of paint and clear will run about 500 + sand paper and all that s you should be looking at closer to 1k for paint and thats for the middle of the line paint..
Dang, I come to these forums to relax and learn. If I wanted to hear people bicker I would just listen to my 3 kids and occasionally the wife lol. Its a small world and a short life to get bent out of shape about anything.
I just gave you advice on how much the stuff cost. No need to get all huffy and puffy. I know how much sealer primer and 2k primer costs per gallon and quart. Along with the price of a mid grade paint and clearcoat setup.. 32 dollars a quart is a hell of a price. Mines $89 a quart for a middle of the line paint. I suggested a sealer primer because your car had rust. What is the paint brand your using that might factor in the $32 a quart. Hell just for the quart Of paint and clear for the engine bay and jambs on my car was like 180. Im buying it from a paint place also. Like i said i was just giving you a rough estmate of what a mid grade paint cost.. My gallon of transstar 2k primer and reducer was close to $200.. Not hating or insulting just giving a heads up.

i know a guy at ford...he is mixing the paint for me...it helps when you know people that can hook you up.....
part of the reason your paint it that much is your using a new ford color...mines 19 years old....cheaper... by a bit...i think ford paint will last long...lasted 19 years on this car till rust started.
