Upon recieving my JLT cold air kit, I noticed that the air tube has a small hole under it (for IAT connector i guess), but my factory inlet pipe doesnt have a hole. Should I just plug the hole or leave it? I read in the instructions that 99-01 gt's had a IAT adaptor in the inlet tube, but my 02 doesnt. HELP!!!!!!!

If there is any hole that you will not use, it MUST be plugged. Why? Its after the MAF, thats unmetered air going down the engine...that =s possably DANGEROUS A/F lvs (Read: LEAN) @ various RPMs...especially @ WOT.

BTW your JLT shouldnt have had any AIT holes...your supposed to drill it yourself . There should only be 2 holes in the intake.

Thx, Ill just plug it since they probably sent me the wrong inlet. I figure a rubber grommet from home depot will do it.

Yep...if you have 3 extra holes, just plug one.

1s for the PCV system
2nd is for the IAC
3rd (if its there) is for the IAT

I assumed you ment IAT and not IAC since you need the one for the IAC lol...otherwise the car wont idle. Let us know what happens...and pics would be nice .

That hole is for the Intake Air Temperature sensor. In newer Mustangs the IAT is incorporated into the MAF so that is probably why you do not have one.

Call the manufacturer on Monday and discuss this issue with them, I think it is safe to say that you will not be the first one to ask them about this...

I e-mailed him yesterday and he's sending me a new tube...seems like a good person/good cust svc and he reponded within the hour...on a saturday at that! Anyway, he related that the wrong tube got shipped to me and it will be corrected. Oh by the way the inlet/filter combo is HUGE and should suck in mega air!

Yup... That's a typical response from Jay. Although I don't have a JLT installed on my Cobra I still recommend him to anyone who asks. He has a proven product with excellent customer support. Not much more you could ask for...

Good, glad you got it all worked out. Apparently you ordered one for a 99-00 mustang...or I mean thats what got sent to you. I didnt know he had JLTs with the hole already drilled.

And yea his customer service is TOP NOTCH.

Not to steal the thread or anything, but which one should I order? My stock tube has an IAT right by the MAF, so I'm assumng I'm going to need the one he ended up with? I've been avoiding getting a CAI lately, but so many people have been wanting to 'see what's under the hood' recently, and I never have much to show them. I figure, a little bling should impress most of the 'tards that ask 'What'cha got under the hood?'
