As some of you know, I wrecked my '11 GT. I now have a '13 GT and want to transfer everything from the '11 to it.
This '13 has 18" rims on it (someone put older SVT rims on it with 235 pizza cutters). I want to transfer the 19" rims over. Will the 19" rims work with the steering gear on an 18" car?
I have the original rack from my '11 car and also the Ford Racing rack I bought when I put the polyurethane control arms on it (you can't change steering feel/mode on the '11 cars!).
I only ask because Ford's parts catalog notes that the 18" and 19" steering racks are different (probably different stoppers inside to stop 19" rim from rubbing? at full extensions left and right?). That steering gear replacement was a battle and a half. I might as well replace the K member with a lightweight race component to balance out front-to-back weigh ratio if that is the case.
