Roush SA20 on eBay

I am pretty sure this is the second run through EBAY for this car in the past couple months. Not sure if it sold and current owner is selling it, or if it never sold the first time through. Not in big demand as the SA20 had a couple left over for a few months after they were announced. Usually Saleens best customers get first dibbs on any anny cars and they are gobbled up before the public has a chance at one

3rd time

This is the third time through. At 35K it is not actually a no reserve, but a 35K reserve.

I'm not sure that the SA20's have the high exposure following of other low production cars....at least enough ti garner a large following.

I would not buy a 550 mile car, just because every mile you drive it........

I would much rather buy a 5-7K mile car and enjoy it over time, by driving it on nice days. In fact '98 S351 is going for a ride in 20 minutes .....my son's marching band has some youngsters ( ricers) that have requested a viewing of pushrod/blower technology at its finest!!! I'm sure there is better but in my garage, this would be the ticket.

Nice car though.

Its not like the SA10 anyway, but it might be in a few years. That's the same guy selling I'm sure. Its a beautiful car, he just needs to take more of his own pictures, not use Saleens or others from the web and he'd probably do better.

If I could I'd move on that car.

This Auction Is A Scam!!!!!

Hello All

This auction is a total scam. I own this car and I bought it new. I had it on ebay a few months ago and it did not sell. Now somebody jacked my add and is trying to rip someone off. I bid $100,000 to make sure that I was the high bid so no one would get riped off. I also reported it to ebay but I guess they don’t give a ****. Anybody know how I can get ebay to pull the auction. Anyway the car is not for sale anymore.

Aaron

I honestly don't know if Aaron is telling the truth or not, but he is correct in stating that this same vehicle with the exact same photographs & description was listed on eBay several months ago. I believe it might have been listed on other websites, too, about that same time.

Compared to either the 1989 SSC or 1993 SA-10, I don't really care for the SA-15 or SA-20. There wasn't enough of a differentiation between the latter two anniversary editions & the standard S281SC, other than the paint schemes, to make them desirable IMHO.

I dunno. Aaron only has one post on here. If it is a legit auction, and truley no reserve ( and he is the high bidder ) then maybe he is trying to scare everyone off that may be interested in the car to keep the price down.

WOOHOO!!! Hey I won the auction and for only about half as much as I spent on the car when I bought it from Saleen. I am going to wait for this a..hole to contact me and then make him think that I sent him the money.
I guess Ebay don’t give a sh.. And yes I am for real, I own this car and several others. As you can see my screen name here is the same as my ebay name and the 175617 is the vin on my 70 boss 302 (I bought it in 81). In the background of some of the pictures of the SA-20 you can see part of some of my other cars including my 96 Viper GTS, 68 GT500KR, and 03 S281 SC. These pictures were shot in my airplane hanger where I store some of the cars. In the ebay add I used several shots of my car that I did not take but they are of my SA-20 #03 so I felt that they were valid.

Anyway I was at the Saleen show in California over the weekend and had a great time. My son took his 02 S281E #01 to the show and got beat in his class by a Saleen fake. What really pissed me off was that the fake that beat him was a copy of his car. Same Beryllium color and a convertible anyway. I told the club about it but they didn’t seem to care so the guy walked away with 1st place in the 99-04 convertible Saleen class. WTF?

I got second place in the autocross which was pretty cool. Especially when most everybody else was about half my age and I was running the Saleen factory car. It was an 05 S281 SC coup.

Sorry Aaron,

I was trying to call it as I saw it. I remember you and your son. Mike, ExtremeSaleen was the guy with the mineral grey coupe who had the lowest time at the driving event. I had my 95 white coupe all by itself to the left of your sons car. Anyway, that pumkin guy with the fake bery vert was there last year also. Sorry to hear he took first. I left before the awards ceremony.

George is correct, they just pulled the auction. A little late I see.

Yeah, hey Aaron. It was a lot of fun at the driving event. And I might have gotten the best time but you got the best spinout of the day. :)

That sounds like a nice collection of cars you have, especially the GT500... :nice:

But damn, you need to go put some miles on that sa-20, enjoy it a little. :D

Ebay sent me an email that the auction was cancelled. But.... I won and for half price.

Drive the SA-20? I never drove it because it wasn’t all that much fun (not fast enough). Of the 500+ miles on it (it doesn’t actually have 550 on it) at least 300 of them were done when the magazines writers test-drove it. Funny thing though; I talked to Billy over the weekend and we tentatively decided to make it an S281 E. The plan is that I will take it down to Saleen in a week or two to do this then I will start driving it. I want to get at least 450 rwhp otherwise I can’t even keep up with my kids. My other son has a 04 Cobra with HP twin 57mm turbos. I won’t be able to keep up with him but at least I can see the pretty red and blue lights following him.

Car collection, well I have been into mustangs and muscle cars (Fords and Mopars) for a long time and have been fortunate enough to hang on to a few over the years. We have a few others that I didn’t mention and I will try to post pictures on this site but not sure where.

Didn't intend to disparage you either, Aaron. It's sometimes difficult to know just who is on these 'net boards & what they are claiming.

I probably didn't meet you @ the Saleen show last weekend. I own the '98 Cobra Speedster.

You could have found his car parked in the 94-98 white speedster row also known as the 94-98 Open Saleen Class :D
