I've been having some kind of mechanical gremlin with the car lately. After a few weeks of fiddling with it and replacing parts i caved and took it to Ford to get it diagnosed. I couldn't go anymore without my car so i was kind of in a tight spot. They ran a genisis machine through it and found nothing and then they decided to pull all the plugs. Turns out my #5 cylinder plug has oil on it which means i have some internal rings and/or bearings shot. Could also be something with the valves. So in short, the motor is going to be coming out this week and getting rebuilt with whatever is needed, new gaskets, and i'm going to be throwing on some stuff thats been sitting in the garage while its out ie smog and AC delete kits and a new clutch. Can anyone give me any tips or tricks as to something i might miss when doing all this? I always miss the little things and i don't want to screw anything up on something of this magnitude.

Since my motor is getting torn apart i am wishing i had money so i could just go ahead and do an H/C/I conversion but thats going to have to wait. I think i can get some money to port the lower intake, port the stock GT40 irons, and throw in a cam while everything is out. I know Tom Moss does excellent port work and i might have to hit him up but shipping would be a bitch for those items so my question is, does anyone know someone around here that does good port work for a fair price? Or for an alternative i could port the stuff if someone just instructed me on what tools/hardware i need to do this and perhaps some simple instructions would be appreciated.

Thanks

How about doing a leakdown test to further diagnose where the oil might be coming from? That is what I would do.

Good luck.
