safe to drive on bent rim?

might not have enough cash to repair rim right away, but need new tires. is it ok to put new tires on the rim for a little while? its prob. a 3 inch bend.

rear rim, in the direction of rotation. the 97 oe 17 inch gt rims

Well I had a 3 inch bent lip on the edge of my rim for 2 years and never had any problems but I know it wasn't safe. I had gone up to 110 miles per hour and it felt really stable.

if it holds air ok
doesn't vibrate at highway speed
or require major counter-balancing
you should be ok.

I can tell you the procedure to correctly repair it for the budget minded person.
