Saleen '20 wheels

Hi there ,

im planning to buy the new saleen bodykit for my stang , i was wondering about the wheels ,

is 20' too big for the mustang , i mean the ride will be rough or okay ..

im concerned about the comfort of the ride , please if anybody has experience in this , help

Yeah, I'd think 20 foot wheels would be a tad bit large!

But seriously.. I am not a big fan of anything over a 17", I like to see a little tire on a wheel and to me it gives a nicer look. I would think that you'd have a firmer ride with a large wheel/low profile tire combo.

20" wheels are perfect. I run them with a 35 sidewall up front and a 30 in the rear and the car doesnt ride any rougher than with the Eibach Pro kit. The car handles like its on rails. I highly recommend them.

AWESOME RIDE.........that is awesome....i cant wait to get a black stang...nice job...i normally dont like colored wheels but that looks smooth. i dont think i will drop the $$ for 20's tho.

Thanks man I actually bought the car with them already installed, so I didnt have to drop the cash. If I had to do it on my own, I probably would have opted for some better priced 19's. But I do love the way it sits with the 20's

Would look better with 18s and nice fat tires. Those look like rubber bands.

First of all, nice car.

I'm not a big fan of huge tires and tiny strips of rubber, though. It just looks a little silly to me. I like the beefy look of a tire strapped to a slightly smaller wheel. I'll probably go with 18" when I switch 'em out.

Thanks for the replies. Its all a matter of opinion. IMO, a dropped car with stock rims looks like a lifted truck with stock rims. You look at it and think "somethings missing here".

19s and 20s are perfect on the 05. 17s and 18s on the 05 look like the 01-04s did with 16s and 17s. The 05 is a bigger car and needs bigger wheels.

Thanks! They're SSR GT-10's and BFG KDW2's. 18x8 +49mm, 255/45/18 and 18x9.5 +43mm, 285/40/18.

That looks very nice! What springs are you running? It looks like you may have only lowered the rear? I'm considering the same if that's the case. Awesome looking car!

I have the Saleen kit (comes with shocks, springs, struts, and front sway bar). Lowers the car about 1.25-1.5" - although it does seem that it didn't lower the front as much as the back. The wider rear tires filling out the fender wells also adds to the effect. Thanks for the compliments!

I think the offset of your front wheels is what threw me off. They are under the car a little more than the rears, and the rears are wider as you mentioned. Did you notice any deterioration in the ride quality? I think the new car handles lowering much better without spoiling the ride. I rode in srichard's car with the 19" Drift Rs and it was still very nice and smooth.
