Roush Saleen no longer offering factor tours

Personally I'm not surprised. With both Steve & Liz out of the picture, the real powers that be @ Saleen Inc. are obviously cracking down on the casualness of how the previous incarnations of the company used to operate.

And from what Marcus has stated in other threads, along with not so subtle confirmations from alleged Saleen insiders, the Irvine facility is no longer a production shop anymore anyway as all vehicle production is being transferred to the Troy, MI facility. Obviously since this transition has not been officially announced, Saleen Inc. isn't about to allow total strangers to witness it while it's underway.

It's not really a secret or any conspiracy that all production is in Troy at this point, and we definetly aren't trying to hide it. The facility there is alot bigger, closer to Ford, and has bigger lot to keep stock parked outside. It is also just alot cheaper to operate out of in general.

Saleen Irvine is primaraly the SpeedLab center and is still headquarters for sales and marketing as well as R&D/design. Theres honestly just not a lot to show on a tour right now aside from customer upgrades and a couple of cars in the show room. There isn't really any "transition" happening, as you know all of the S331 Trucks and S281 3-Valve and Supercharged cars were made in troy for the past year anyways with only the PJs and the E-cars being produced in Irvine along with the S7.

It really also has nothing to do with Steve and Liz not being around, we are still a casual bunch, but there is really nothing to look at for the time being aside from R&D projects that we cant show the public yet anyways. Irvine will be available for tours again in the future, so don't be too worried!

Jared,

That would be a nice thing to do. Make the guy look good in front of his new bride. On top of that he is one of just a handful of true enthusiasts in England. Drive him over to Fairbanks in the new crewcab and let him converse in English with Bonnie. :)

Since you are doing favors jared, i would like to test drive an S7. Don't worry, it won't be too long, since i plan to use an entire tank of gas in less than 15 miles.

MMMM Bonnie :) , ive been calling there for a long time, whats Bonnie look like?

Ya know what? Who cares. Give Steve sometime to make some real money in his new business. He'll be back once he realizes that there is indeed a real following. Don't forget what Carrol did all those years. It's the same thing!

Juist stay faithfull!

just wanted to say a public thanks to Jared who took time out of his day to show us around the facility there..... some interesting things there to say the least !!!

The fires were so close to the factory that they were evacuated and had only been back in a few days when I showed up... we drove there from Vegas on the way to LAX.... it's kinda on the way...
