Saleen or Roush???????

My current position

I like the rear end more than most anything else on the Saleen, if you don't, sorry to tell you that you are just wrong and maybe a little blind, could be both. It elongates the ride and gives it that dragster look. Look again and you'll see what i mean and then come to grips with what you've been missing. Next, the front of the Saleen is something to desire! No one else has come out with anything that sexy in the new body style with the exception of Cervinis. Rims OK, not great but could live with that. Performance is still left to determine and no one has really helped out all that much here yet on that.

Now for the Roush, sorry to say that the front bumper looks messed up, like it is at some wrong angle or something. It just sticks out there with no real smooth lines to connect to, like some crazy ricer ride. Never been a big fan of the little window covering no matter who makes them. Only ones i can stand are the Cervinis again. The wing, please help me out here, what the hell happened there. Is it part of the car or is it just an oversizes nissan attachment that happened to fit the Ford. Now the rear exhaust slots and bumper cover are absoulute beauties!!!! It looks a little like an RC slot car or something Hot Wheels would come up with now that we are in the days of overkill in Hot Wheels design. But Roush is Roush and the power and durability should be second to none. Reliability i would think is greater than Saleen,

But now i have a ripple in the mix. What about going the EMAY route and that beauty he has created for us all to look at with the Cervinis kit and da*n it looks amazing. Every time i see it, well you don't want to know. That comes creeping into my mind also. Got some thinking to do, but someone help out with the performance aspect could you? Thanks

Roush Stage 3:

HP 415
TQ 385

Intercooled Roushcharger with custom Roush-calibrated ECM
1G on the skidpad (per reports)

Upgraded Suspension:
struts
rear shocks
front and rear springs
front and rear sway bars

Brakes - 14" quad piston goodness in front and rear. SCHWING. LOL

427R (a little shy of $49,000) has all the above but the ECM programming kicks it to 427-hp, 391-lb-ft tq with a whole lot of added striping (which I know you love). :D

Saleen 281SC

HP 335
TQ 345 lb-ft

Well..Here... You check it out and decide if the $$$ is worth it.

Good thing you don't go as fast in the Saleen as the Roush since Saleen only gives you a 12.4" front and 11.8" rear disc set-up. You'll need to upgrade that to the optional 14". :(

The Roush may be butt ugly, but at least the $ per performance factor is there. You are a smart financial mind. Pull back and look at what you get for the $.

Last time I watched racing, Saleen was not throwing down many sponsored teams and development is minimal and mainly in-house. :(

Only you can decide Max. :D

HP 465
TQ 425 lb-ft

It also comes with 14"/4 piston caliper's

 Thanks for catching that. Correct as indicated docile on the HP/TQ. :nice:

Still not seeing that the standard brakes are 14".

Don't get me wrong, I love the Saleen just as much as the Roush. I have always preferred the Roush Stage 3+ speciality Mustangs. So I guess I need to drink a can of "Shut the Hell up" since I am biased in my answer. I have drove both in the past. Just prefer the Roush.

Almost bought a 2002 Roush 360R. Only reason I didn't was my commute to my work is only 4 miles and I found the clutch throw so violent that I thought I would knock my teeth out after releasing the shift. After I drove it I told the owner of the dealership "With all due respect, Sir, that is just too much pony for this lady." :rlaugh: I'll admit it. It screamed and I think I had to change my panties. :jaw:

Either Stang is beautiful in its own personality and will get Dmax what he wants. Iit's just up to him to decide on which one her prefers. Whichever one he gets, he can order me one in Red. :nice:

Now that we know who wins the horsepower war, anyone of the brilliant minds on the board have some track times? I simply don't have time to do this research and i love that you have already done it or have the time to expand both our minds. Thanks, i'm leaning towards the Saleen. Also, if Emay is out there, could you tell us a little more about the setup on your ride as compared to these 2? Thanks Emay, beauty is in the eye of your car!
