I'm in lust with the 05 Saleen S-281 SC! Does anyone know if 'ole Steve plans to upgrade the 4.6L 3V to forged internals when he bolts on the twin screw? After buying my '99 Cobra I swore I would never buy another mod motored Stang with powdered metal rods and hypercrap pistons. I will not put a blower on my Cobra for this reason. Ford put forged parts in the 03-04 Cobras for a reason.

The S281-E will get the forged internals while the S281 SC will still be a stock engine with a blower slapped on it. The difference between the non SC and the SC version is about 6K so I doubt that will include forged internals.

I believe I saw the 05 non SC model for 39k so the model with the SC would sell for 45k ... man thats steep for a mustang ... Ill stick with my stock poor mans special GT

I think the stock bottom end can handle boost if tuned properly. If my little 2 ltr can make 350 whp with alot of drivetrain loss due to AWD. And all w/o any forged internals, I think a 4.6 with twice the cyl. should make good #'s boosted. But, you won't need much boost with that high of compression.
