Same E303 Cam Difrent Sound

Ok guys just a quick question here me and my buddy both have 88 mustang 5.0. His is fuel injected mine is car we both have e303 cams he has a lopy idle realy nice mine is quit it only sounds lopy when its cold when it warms up u cant even tell i have one my cam is advanced 4 degrees and i have full exhaust with super 44s his exhaust cosist of shortys hpipe stock exhaust

Might be an EFI thing?
I have wondered the same thing.
Cam specs for EFI cars, that sound really radical are the same specs that are relatively tame on old school engines.

I always assumed it had something to do with the hydraulic roller lifters, but maybe it's all in the ECM/EFI functions?
Great question. Too bad I don't have an answer.

I have run cams on carb'd cars that were just as rough as the biggest EFI cams, but the specs were far more radical to get that sound.

Maybe his timing is off causing it to sound lopey...I honestly never thought the e cam was that lopey from the ones I have heard in person. Sounds mild to me.

I run the e303 and i have a lopy idle, when it idles down. if i sent the idle up even 50 rpm the car no longer has that hard lope. Im running efi. 650-750= lopy 750+ =no more lope ........
Whats your idle set at? Your timing?
