Sanity Check. My 3g Wiring...

So I manage to find the stock harness missing Green wire with a Red stripe.

It was cut way back in the harness that goes across the radiator support. It leads to the driver side shock tower meeting a plug. Which then leads into the main harness heading for the fire wall.

So I can now clean up my dash and leave it be. And extend this wire to the matching Green/Red wire location on the Alternator for its intended use.

Ok, so I thought all was good. Until the car left me stranded. That's my own fault.

After going through the checklist, the car fails at the dash light and 500ohm resistor stage. After a Google search, I read that it's soldered on the backside in the center of the gauge cluster.

I would imagine it's easier to replace the cluster rather than desolder it and replace...?

Looks like I can jump that and run the green/Red wire directly to the 12v switched at the ignition switch. Would this cause an issue?

That will work OK, but use a 5 amp inline fuse when you do it. This will protect the wiring and the rest of the car if something goes wrong. The fuse should be as close to where you tap into the 12 Volts as possible.

Awesome. I tapped into the white/pink wire from the ignition. Ran it to the green/red wire and started her up.

This was the first time I seen the voltage gauge climb up instead up steadily fall. Looks like it's charging now.
