That car looks so clean without the big side scoops and rear wing, plus the stance and wheels are just right. Cool seats, too. This is easily my favorite of the factory-built SN95s. I know a lot of people wish the S197 had more fake scoops, etc., but there is something to be said for a clean car with the right stance. I'm sure Ford will start adding stuff to the S197 but I hope they always keep a clean-looking V8 car in the lineup.

Problem is, there's not many of us Mustang guys who prefer clean styling. Thankfully, the '05 doesn't have any tacky scoops/ducts/etc except the wing (that can be deleted), but I bet they are coming soon...

I like it both ways. I like the gaudy hood scoop on the Mach 1, because it's functional. I also like the black chin spoiler and black wing as well. I don't really like the look of any SN95 model without a wing, actually. But I'm almost positive I'm going to order my 05 GT without a wing, because it looks clean that way.

I find it amazing that there are mustang people out there that say they want the fake scoops, and in the next breath they dump on the import crowd for all the ridiculous body kit stuff they love slapping all over their rides. Personally, I find it all equally offensive.

I can't believe any of that stuff helped Ford sell even one more SN95 than would have otherwise. IMO, the S197 looks great the way it is. If you want to play boy-racer dress up, the racing stripes look pretty slick. Otherwise, I'm sure the aftermarket, maybe even Ford Motorsport, could do a good job of filling that need.

I think that the Bullitt is my favorite of the SN95's too. I am a big fan of the clean styling that the Bullitt has. I'll probably get my new stang without the spoiler too.

I looked at a new '04 GT without the rear wing this week. Much better looking than with the wing. I also saw a '04 GT 'vert. $31,800 Yikes!! My '00 only listed for 2$27,995 and I didn't see anything on the '04 that I didn't have.

A 2004 GT Vert should not cost you $31,800 if it doesn't have something you don't already have on your 2000. To reach that price level, it'd have to have the Mach 1000 system or the 40th Anniversary package, I believe. Either way, most dealers would be willing to go well under MSRP for a 2004 Mustang, and if they don't want to deal, find one who will. They'll be stuck with a lot of "old" Mustangs on the lot come next year.

The Bullitt was the Mustang that I was going to get, but I opted for the GT instead. I Liked the wing, disliked the fake side scoops, and grew to hate the hood scoop. The Mach one had the right idea going to the functional shaker scoop, even though it was just an aftermarket product that ford bought and used. I was embarrassed when my friend was comparing his Suburu WRX to my GT and I conceded that the GT's hood scoop is lame whereas the WRX's is functional. Then I told him that his car is ugly and whooped on him on a private road for bragging rights. I love the fact that the new Stang has clean lines. I'm still a little sketchy on the lights though.

i've really liked the bullit from day 1. i almost cracked and bought one brand new, but decided it didn't make the most sense given my financial situation at the time. looking back now i still really like the bullitt but i'm not impressed with the non-functional hood/side scoop(s), i'm not impressed with how much the new GT's resemble the bullitt, and i don't like the aluminum gas cap. i would have liked to have seen more power from her (who wouldn't) or at least a stronger block since she's good for boost. all around a great car though.

FWIW- the mach 1 hood scoop is only *slightly* functional. there is still a fenderwell snorkel at the air filter housing so any ram-air effect would be lost.
