My bro and I were picking up his stang from a local performance shop. We dropped it off in the morning and saw this brand new 2007 Mustang GT that just got a twin turbo kit installed. Made 460rwhp and 500 tq. When we came back to pick up his car later that day, the same car was being towed back in. Come to find out that the dude blew a rod through the side of the block within in 2 hours of picking it up. We actually got to see the hole in the block and there was metal everywhere. What a mess, i would cry if i just dropped $9000 and only got to drive it 2 hours. Me and my bro had to wonder if it was the tune that blew it or if it was just too much power for the new 3V.

It seems from what I have been reading that the 3Vs can handle more power on stock internals. Not bulletproof, but an improvement over what we are working with. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was a crappy tune that caused it... from what I have read, tuning a turbo takes much more finess than, say, a PD blower. I could be wrong though. At any rate, tough luck for that guy

Bet he wishes he put a little more money down for some forged internals and lower compression pistons right about now.

LOL, yeah seriously. It was too late by then. But at least he only had exhaust, new springs/shocks put on. I would hope he could handle just bolt on stuff and not screw it up.

Damn thats money down the hole... sucks ass cause that would void the warrenty. I never really understood modding a car with a warrenty, just buy used or wait untill the warrenty is up and stuff gets fixed before modding. You can always fight with the dealer over it, but they usually win.

The tuner said he downtuned it and was only pushing 8 PSI just to be safe for the stock motor. Obviously that didnt help.

too much power for the stock internals, i dont think the new gt's internals are that much stronger.

In a nutshell as many have already said, that's a lot of hp for a stock Mustang engine.
