I have been wondering about it for years. What's the scoop on the 94-98 scoops? Some I have seen had tiny perferated holes with a wierd vent thing inside the wheel well in front of the rear tire. Others are just a solid piece of plastic with no vent in the wheel well. Was this an effort by Ford to make functional brake scoops? Is the variation due to year or anti-lock vs standard brakes?

I dont know how much this helps, but I noticed on my 94gt with ABS it had vented scoops to the rear wheels. Now my 98 does NOT have ABS and the scoops are not vented.

It has nothing to do with whether or not the car has ABS. It's purely a function of what year the car is. 94's and, I believe, 95's, have the vented rear scoops, and the rest do not.

thanks. Now I know about brakes. The vent in the wheel well I noticed is positioned right in front of the tire, in which I doubt it would blow much air on the brake.

yea i have 1995 v6 and i have the rear scoops and the 2 small vents on the sides of the hood.
