I was wondering if an SCT flash tuner designed for a 2005 gt access port would still be able to tune a 2003 gt safely? Would it be able to upload the maps as it would on the 05 gt or could it harm the ECU on the 03?
If it is specifically and strictly for the 05 and up 3valve Mustangs then it won't work on you car unless you have a 3valve conversion. I don't know how BAMA works, but I do know that some tuners (like Sniper) will work on most Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles with OBD-2 ports...even the 3valve engines. So if BAMA has these capabilities then it will work. If you're buying it used then I would check the instructions first just to make sure. If it doesn't come with instructions then I would steer away from it.
+1. it will work unless the tunes on are specifically for the '05 and up. All OBD-II ports are the same for inspection/ diagnostic reasons. http://www.sctflash.com/ if you want any more info.
