SCTXCAL2 HELP!

Hey guys i just bought a sct xcal2 from some1 that was programmed for a 2002 gt with the same mods as me except i have a 96gt with a pi engine but 96 comp.....so my question is will this work? oh yea and when it tells you to pull out the fuel pump fuse and fan fuse before i start programming is that really necessary? thanx

Each Xcal is programmed specifically for one car. The programmer will not work for your car unless he sets the tuner back to normal.

i bought it from some1 who never used it because he sold the car and the custom program is for his car but i thought i could just use it or get another one...or am i wrong?

Like I said, the tuner is programmed for HIS car. Therefore the tuner will not work for your car. He has to "erase" his tune and set it back to normal.

i doubt that a tuner configured for a 02 computer will work on the 96 computer.

If the tuner was set back to stock then you can have another tune loaded by an SCT dealer but it will not work as is because the tuner is VIN locked.

The real deal...

If it was a 9400 (says Ford on the front), then you will need a tune for your car. If it was a 9415 (says SF on the front), then it will work for your car. In both cases, the seller needs to uninstall it from his/her car first.
