Hey all. When I take the car out of winter storage was thinking about running seafoam through the car. I bought the car in the past fall. So I dont know its history other than current mods. Think it would be a good idea? Also is there a proper way to do it. Thanks in advance

Looks like the other thread has been deleted, so we'll keep this one going...

While I have always semed to be one that does use seafoam after I pickup a vehicle, I can't say that it has really done anything other than smoke up the neighborhood and make me feel good. Once or twice I've noticed perhaps a small smoothening out of idle.

As for how to use it, I pop off the large vacuum line that comes from the brake booster. Take off the side that connects to the booster, not the manfold. Let the vehicle run, it will stumble due to the vacuum leak you just created. Slowly pour half the bottle into that line, the engine vacuum will suck in it. As I get towrds the halfway mark on the bottle, I pour it fast enough to cause the engine to stall. Then I pour the other half of the bottle into the fuel tank to be used as an injector cleaner.

Then wait about 20-30 minutes. Re-connect the vacuum line while you wait. When times up, fire her up. She may cough and sputter and seem a bit angry, but will billow gobs of smoke out the exhaust. Let it idle or go for a ahort drive until all the smoke stops.

Hope this helps. You can also check out some videos of this in action on the 'tube
