I only waited 5 minutes like the directions on the can said.
Should I have waited longer?

Doesn't really matter, less will not hurt, just run it again in a couple thousand and if there is smoke, run it longer in future. If it only smoked 15-20 seconds, that is wierd, I was out driving mine for about 15 minuts and it was smoking like a chimney all the way.

I think you should have, but how many miles are on your car? If it's a low milage car, then you probably don't have that much build-up, but you can always try it again, it won't hurt.

I just got another can and poured half in the crankcase and half in the gas tank with half a tank of gas in it.

Sounds ideal, change your oil in a few days and you will have cleaned your engine well

Keeping the thread alive. I will be doing this in my 95. To bad the darn pcv line is in a tight spot. I'll get it figured out and see what happens. Car has 137K on it now and probably doesn't need it. Reason I think this is because of how strong she runs now and how meticulously the previous owner took care of it.

Second owner had car from 30k-130kmiles and it always had mobil one and pro long fuel system treatment every other oil chng. With very few mods my car still dynoing at 240hp/307tq

just put a third of a can in the intake and a third in the crankcase. Waited 20 minutes and took it for a drive. Had just a 3-5 sec burst of white smoke and then it was over. I have a 2003 Mach 1 with just under 40k on it.

It will probably have crap in there no matter how well the previous owner took care of it

Is there any circumstance where the seafoam burns up cats? Since I've done it, my exhaust smells like your typical uncatted car..

Long live teh seafoam

I just did my '94 with 170,000 miles. Man talk about smoke, y'all can probably find my location if you look out your windows. I was worried that someone would call the FD to put out a car fire. I can't wait to take it for a spin, but my lunch break is over now. amnit:

Oh yea... long live teh seafoam tread.
