i have an 03 gt and i think the spot i pour it in is on the same side of the engine as yours? the only issue is that it looks hard to reach cause of the black air filter tube on top of it. how do i get around this, or should i just use the tube from the valve and put the seafoam in a cup like ppl are saying?

EDIT: nevermind, dumb question i understand now. Thanks for the write-up.

oh yeah i forgot to ask this. When you pour it in your fuel tank, do you mean like with the gas, and do you use the same amount of seafoam (about 1/3 to 1/2 the bottle)? and also how long do you let it your car sit if you only do it this way?

Anyone just tried it through the fuel tank and not the pvc valve?

Just did my 2003 S10 4.3L (32K miles)and my 97 GT (56K miles) yesterday. Awsome. The S10 I poured 1/2 into the oil fill resevoir, and added the other 1/2 into the brake booster vacuum line. It smoked for about 5 minutes. Throttle response & idle quality were noticeably better. The Mustang was a bit different. I had to find a different spot for vacuum. I undid the rubber line that goes into the upper plenum (after the black box) and poured part of it into that hose while holding it up. Then I reconnected the hose and started it for a second to suck it in. Turned it off and undid the hose again, adding the rest, and reconnecting it. Ran it for a minute and shut it down for about 5 minutes. Started it up, and did some revs, then just stuck a washer into the throttle stop to keep the revs at around 2700 rpms, and watched the smoke show for a good 15 minutes. Performance went up big time. Chirps hittin 2nd consistently now. Changed the oil right after this, throwing in some clean Mobile 1. I will be doing this to all my vehicles every 30K miles. Im sold!

No need to let it sit if you pour it in your gas tank. On the bottle itself it says 1 pint of seafoam treats 8-12 gallons i think. and yes, put it in with half to 3/4 tank gas.

putting it in the gas tank wont give you the same smoke show. it just cleans out the fuel lines and injectors if you put it in the gas tank.

Just did it today through my Vaccum line on the upper penlum, just poured half the can of seafoam into a 20oz water bottle so i could see the level, then just stuck the hose into the seafoam removing it periodicly to let the car breath, shut it down and waited 15 mins....started up and smoked the whole neighborhood up, and it honestly improved the cars revs, startup, exhaust tone, and pulls much more consistantly, and NO it is not a mental feeling, not telling my buddy i did it he rode with me afterwards and was like "What the hell man? what'd you do to it now?!? it pulls harder!" so for anyone debating this, definatly do it, i know i will continue to do so...

ok, so i tried "teh seafoam"... and man. i got a good size cloud of smoke. and it idle's better. not sure bout hp or responce. but it doesnt lope at the stop lights anymore. so the sea foam gets a thumbs up from me.

my buddy at work helped me on a lunch break.....people must have been thinking (POS ford). it was funny.

anyways yeah it sucked that stuff in like none other. i didnt even lose a drop.... anyways. just thought i would bring this thread back to life and share my sea foam experaince with ya'll... gotta run

I just got a Focus with 90K+ miles, I picked up two bottles today, one for the gas tank and one for the oil and intake. I hope it imporoves and clean all the gunk out of the intake and injectors. I used it on my Mustang before and it worked great.

ttt for someone to post a complete video of the procedure or detailed pics....quick question though...i used the seafoam awhile ago through the tank and i could tell a difference, since then i got new heads, would i notice any change now, the car has a lot of miles except for the heads, thoughts????

I'll try to go buy a can tomorrow and video it. I don't blame you asking for a video...I tried 3 times before I got it right. That was a waste of a good half-can of Seafoam

Anywho...using it in the fuel tank just cleans the injectors, just like any other additive might, but probably a little bit better. But yes, you will still probably notice a difference. The ways all do different things. I have a little over 200,000 on my motor...it smoked for a good 10 minutes. I bet that is the first time this car ever saw Seafoam.

Also...I can't guarantee any smoke, as I did this about 1,000 miles ago and it may not be dirty enough inside, but we'll see.

Probably not, unless your engine was cleaned from head to toe inside when you swapped the heads.

if i remember it was like 1/2 can in 1/8 of tank, then the rest of the can on a full tank. no oil change for me after that.

When you put it in your crank case is when you change your oil. There are 3 ways to use Seafoam on our cars: upper intake, fuel tank, and crank case. Each one does something different.

As for the video...I have it recorded, just trying to chop the important parts together to make a half-decent video for y'all.
